On June 3rd you texted me saying "Nana thank you for taking us to Seattle I'm so excited". 

Your mother posted this on your 11th BD on Facebook:

Anxiously awaiting Drew to open his door. My baby is 11 today! Zack thought it would crack Drew up if we used Frozen balloons that say "sisters forever"...... Bahahahaaaaa.

Awww Drew, this picture makes my heart so happy and sad at the same time. Happy to watch you grow into a young man yet sad that it's going so fast. Before I know it you'll be leaving for college. AHhhhhhhh... I can't even think about it. I pray all your wishes come true!!

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Beautiful day on the lake!  June 18th. 

 

On June 24th I picked you and your brother up so you could stay with me and Mr. Bob for the weekend.  Uncle Jeffrey is coming over in the afternoon to spend the night & Saturday night.  He will be leaving Sunday for Niagara Falls, NY where he will be living.  No more California.

Uncle Jeffrey went to have dinner with Uncle Bruce and I made pasta and garlic knots for you and your brother.

 At 2:30 in the morning you woke me up.  You had a really bad stomach ache.  You were crying because it hurt so much.  You texted your mother who was at work.  I got a blanket and covered you up in a chair in the family room.  I couldn't do anything to make you feel better.  Finally your mother decided to pick you up around 6:30 a.m.  She needed to get a couple of hours sleep.  You, your mother and father returned to have a BBQ and going away party for Uncle Jeffrey.

 

You did not want to spend the night again.  You told me that Zachary tried to get you to stay.  I told you that if you didn't want to stay that was OK.

Do not underestimate the feeling of cracking an egg on your "lippy" tween's head! Sometimes you gotta' get cray!

 

 

 

 

 

May 2016

Went to your brothers baseball games on Saturday the 7th.  It was a double header and both games were great game.  Here's what you were doing for both games....

 

 

Then we went back to your house.  Your father got me and your mother flowers.  Here's the card I got from you and your brother.

 

 

On Wednesday the 11th you had a band concert.  We stopped at Chili's to have a light dinner.  Your mother noticed my car was still running after we got out.  I turned it off.  Getting old really sucks.

You had onion rings!  You looked so handsome.  You are going to have girls crawling all over you.  You said you had 4 girls interested in you now.  OMG.... 

Over dinner you said you waned to enlist in the service.  Maybe be a medic.

 On the 14th we went to Zachary's game and then to your house for him to take a shower and pack up all your stuff.  You two decided you wanted to eat at Peter Piper.  I passed up one, but found one closer to the interstate.  You had a pizza and a large drink.

 

 

After lunch we went to Bed Bath and Beyond to get blankets for you and your brother.  Zachary had asked me to buy him one the last time you stayed over.  He really like that blanket.  Then you said "I want one too".

Zachary was being very difficult and refused to go to Mr. Ron's birthday dinner at BJ's.  He must have been going thru puberty.

 

I ended up taking both of you home.  So sorry.

 

You were hoping to go see 21 Pilots in concert, but you said it was too expensive and you probably wouldn't be able to go. 

 

Your mother told me about a note that you  teacher found this note in the trash and your mother posted on Facebook.

 

Drew would like to thank his "hair lady" for boosting his social status ..... Bahahahaaaaa

Took the boys for their first paddleboarding trip! They loved it!!

On Saturday the 21st we went to Zachary's football game.  It's the playoffs.  He won the first game, but lost the second.  However, he did play very well. 

 

You told me you love your blanket and that's what you sleep with.

You and your brother were looking at something Mr. Bob was looking at.  Can't remember what it was.

 

 

 

 

While your mother and I were seated on the patio, she asked me to stand up.  What?  So I did.  She then came over to me and gave me a big hug and said "Susan,  I really love you and want to forget the past stuff and move forward."  We both ended up crying. 

 

 You and your brother helped Mr. Bob earn $5.00 each for helping him with a small project.  It was covering up some pipes near the garage door.  You came in with the old stuff and tried to put it in our garbage in the house.  I said, no take it out to the trash in the backyard. 

 

While on the patio we started talking about taking you and your brother on a special trip.  I said I'd take just Zachary, but I couldn't take both of you, so it ended up that I would take you, your bother and your mother on a trip.  Now where do we go???  We bounced around a couple of ideas and then Great Wolf Lodge was brought up.  It turns out that there is one in Washington State.  So I said let's fly to Seattle and visit the Great Wolf lodge and other places.    You said "I can't jump out of the plane with a parachute".  We all said What??  You thought that the yellow oxygen mask that would drop out of the ceiling was a parachute.  We all got a good laugh out of that.

 

One other thing you said to me when I told you that Mr. Bob and I are leaving for England on the first of August, was:  "Can you bring me back some Aero Candy?"  Of course we will.

On April 6th your mother posted this on Facebook:

New 'do! And we can't seem to get away from "the biebs"... Thanks hair lady! Bahahahaaaaa!




On Saturday I went to see Zachary play his first football game of the season.  He asked me if he could come over to my house and you said you wanted to come to.  At your house you wanted me to see your room.  You showed me lots of Marvel stuff and a few comic books you had in plastic.  You really love Marvel comics. So, after going to your house and getting your stuff, we headed out to Hungry Howie's for a bit to eat.  First we went to the on Ray, but they did not have dine in, so we went to the one on S. Higley.  You sprinkled crushed peppers on your pizza.  You really love hot stuff!

While your brother and I were making toffee, you were setting up your shot glasses.  When Zachary was finished cooking, the two of you make coke shots. 

 

 

You wanted to take your shot glasses home, so I packed them up in a bag.

 

Time for bed.

 

 

  Zachary mentioned how soft my blanket was. Zachary loved it.  I told him  I'd get him one.  And I will.  Then you wanted wanted one.  I told you I'd get you one also.

Also, you mentioned that you were still playing the trumpet, which belonged to your grandfather.

 

 

You two are so cute.  You both sleep on your right side.

The last time you slept over, the plan was to go to Bed Bath & Beyond to buy your mother a can opener like the one we have.  It takes the lid off with a magnet and won't leave any sharp edges.  I had two little gift bags with small purses and the cool candle lighter.  Zachary  picked the orange/coral one for you mother.

At one o'clock you woke me up.  You were crying and said your stomach hurt.  I took you out to the family room and got a big blanket to cove you.  Eventually, you fell asleep with your head on the arm of the chair.  I couldn't sleep sitting up, so after awhile I went back to bed.  About a half hour later, you came back and got me again.  Went back with you to the FR and started tucking you in. You seemed better so I said, "Why don't I tuck you in bed with Zachary?'.  You said okay, and you slept the rest of the night with him.

 

The next morning we went to church.  I took you and your brother out with me right after communion.  You were a big help in the kitchen.  After church we went to Denny's for breakfast.  You two had chocolate chip pancakes and chocolate milkshakes.

 

Then off to meet your mother.

 

Saw you at your brothers football game on Saturday the 16th.  I noticed you had braces.  you said you got them put on  Wednesday.

 

On Saturday April 30th, Zachary sent me a text saying he wasn't playing football today because he didn't feel well and wanted to know if I was still coming to take the two of you to lunch.  I did and we went to BJ's.  I got this photo of you with your braces on.

 

 

After lunch we went to Sweeties!

You are catching up to me.  Soon you'll be taller than I am.

 

 

 

You had a pool party and a sleepover at your friends.  I hope you make it thru the night.  On Sunday I sent you a text and asked if you made it thru the night.  Your answer was Yep!

 

 

Last day of school is May 19th.  We scheduled a sleepover at my house for Saturday the 14th after Zachary's game.
